We were appointed to change the internal layout of the fourth floor of the St Giles International English School from predominantly bedrooms, into classrooms, while also submitting a full planning applications for change of use from class C2 (residential institutions) to D1 (non-residential institutions).
The project dramatically increased the college’s capacity, not only to house more students but also to schedule a greater number of lessons through the many more classrooms being provided. This will help the college run more efficiently and will aid the college in reaching the modern day educational standards.
St Giles International English School is located in London WC1 Southampton Row, between Holborn and Russell Square. Southampton Row is a busy, traffic heavy road, with numerous commercial buildings on it. The road is close to both the British Museum and the Tate Modern and subsequently reflects this in its contextual design.
Southampton Row has several bus services running frequently through it and as mentioned before Russell Square Underground Station is less than a 5-minute walk away.
